The IM-FPB 58-WPC, is a high-speed wave-piercing aluminium catamaran. It has been conceived as a multipurpose vessel, specifical!Y designed and built for rescue and surveillance operations, and as such is e@ipped for dealing with ship accidents, recovery of survivors at sea, fire fighting and coastal surveillance with regard to illegal immigration, fisheries protection and anti smuggling.
Powered by 4 diesel engines (246S kW each) coupled to 4 steering waterjets, the WPCAT S 2 R can achieve a speed of 40 knots, with superior seakeeping capabilio/ due to an active retractable T-foil. The WPCAT S2R is managed by a crew of 22 persons, and carryonboard 200 passengers/survivors.
