Intermarine have a dedicated and specialized department which designs and produces, since 1998, auxiliary on-board components, including monitoring and control systems, hydraulic systems, and stabilization systems. Those high tech systems and components are already installed on board of several ships (mono hull, catamaran hydrofoils, wave piercing) to cover different kind of mission and customer’s requirements. The specialized technicians of the Marine Systems Department offer their capability to customize the customer’s requirements and to make for each shipyard a final arrangement of the product easy to install. Furthermore th department is daily concentrated on the support to its Customers, due to the particular high technology of his products and due to the aim of the company of establish a life-relation with each Customer.
TMS-200E is a classical example of RMS bow thrusters. Its design is very compact and the thrust can be directed in both directions. The prime mover is an electric motor and the thruster can be managed up to 2 remote control panel to be installed in the wheelhouse and the flying bridge. In order to lower the noise inside the hull even further, the transmission is coupled to the prime mover utilizing an elastic coupling and shock absorbers. The advance propeller design provides a high propulsive efficiency, avoiding any cavitation effects under all operational conditions The system is available in two versions: one for aluminium boat and one for steel units.
Rodriquez Marine System has developed different electric actuators for fin stabiliser with determined size (ESF-1000, ESF-2000, ESF-3000). Such actuators are suitable for fin dimensions ranging from 0.4 m2 to 3.5 m2. This product range allows the correct application of fin size for any type of boat ranging from 20 to 50 meters. The fins are made of reinforced fibreglass and have a profile corresponding to NACA 0015.
The intruder is composed by a mobile blade made in AISI316, a Teflon plate and a support plate in aluminium in contact with the mirror. The movement is transmitted through a hydraulic cylinder, we use three different sizes of cylinders, the races of cylinders are 60 cm, 80 cm and 120 cm. On Fast Ferries the top speed can cause a not quite dynamic behaviour of the vessel affecting the travel comfort of the passengers. However the high speed allows to realize through a set of properly controlled hydrodynamic appendixes a very sophisticated stabilization system able to reduce drastically pitch, roll and yaw of the platform. On this regard RMS, due to its huge experience with fast ferries realized by and with RCN, is able to propose MSI proven systems with very high performance.
RMS retractable thrusters are a very efficient solution in all those cases in which the shape of the hull doesn’t allow the installation of a fixed classical bow thruster. RMS retractable units are fitted with electro/hydraulic system to switch the propeller form its “off” to “on” position and are available in steerable versions. The propeller in this last case can also be tilted to direct the thrust on 360° increasing the manoeuvrability of the ship at zero speed.
T-foils are used for high technological platforms and are developed time by time from RMS to satisfy the specific hydrodynamic requirements of the vessel. On this regard RMS is used to work side by side with the Naval Engineer team just to achieve the expected results in terms of stabilisation, performance and drug. When possible RMS is also able to propose retractable T-foils when preserving the stabiliser from damages during mooring operation or at low speed is mandatory.
TIM-020 is an hydraulic steering gear suitable for leisure boat or fast patrol units fitted with a couple of steering blade. It can be installed on every type of hull (steel, aluminium or composite materials) and the hydraulic actuators are supplied with a proper support to be installed directly in the ship plating or in a suitable spacer in order to adjust the tiller height. The system is operated by 2 control panels positioned in the wheelhouse and in the fly bridge. The control is ON/OFF type: the joystick controls directly the direction rudder valve. In case of power black-out, an emergency manual pump can control the steering gear.
The TIM-1000 is an electro hydraulic steering system for operating twin rudder suitable for combat vessel. When exposed to the specified shock standard, the system shall continue to work satisfactorily without any time restriction. Shock qualification is provided by dynamic design analysis. Dual electro hydraulic power pack are provided, each capable of meeting full performance requirements. The TIM-1000 steering gear is controllable from the Bridge (Primary position), the operation room (alternative position), and fro the steering compartment (emergency position).
